John and Pauline Kwang | Adieu to Our Petite Soeur | May 13, 2015 |
“Petite soeur, petite soeur” is a sound we will never hear or say again! Ebane, in June 2001 at TIR hospital and you wrought your magic on Pauline giving her the much needed and yearned for bath and also enabled her to have a highly deprived and relieving bowel movement. Your soothing words and hands gave her that much needed rest and a confident start to recovery less than a week after 11 hours of three grueling surgeries. Your miracle hands and confident mannerisms and above all your adoring respect for us created an unbreakable bond between us. Now you have departed before us, leaving us to eternally ask the question: “why?”
“Why didn’t you ………….?” Everyone will ask this question, but ours will come out of a deep wound of unknowns, that left us powerless to intervene or much less even attempt to do so. Our job now is to prayerfully intercede to our Lord in your behalf; tears and momentary thoughts turned to prayer recitations; in so doing, your name will ever remain fresh in our hearts and minds. You leave your little sisters without a grande soeur and the passing of the torch will not happen.
Pauline will continue to ask herself the question: “Why didn’t I call you” on Easter Sunday or the day before you left us as "the thought was pressing on my heart to call?" Oh, one of us would have heard your voice and entertaining laughter for the last time. It still would not be as soothing as seeing, joking, and laughing with you.
So long, “little sister”, your voice will never cease to echo in our heads, your love and respect will remain a bright, long shadow as we live on and miss your bright, effervescent smile. We thank God for the opportunity to have known and interacted with you and we sincerely ask Him to bring you into His Kingdom where your smile will remain undiminished and blend well with those of the Saints. Good bye, Good bye and safe journey till we meet again!
